How places are offered

2027 policy: pupils must either "attain satisfactory scoring across tests taken at The Folkestone School for Girls in September each year" or "be selected for grammar school education by the Kent Age 11 assessment". The school's own standard is expected to correspond roughly to the top "25% of girls locally".

Passing either test makes a girl eligible. Oversubscription order after looked-after children: Pupil Premium girls living in Folkestone and Hythe district, then other girls living in the district. The own-test route is called the Shepway Test on the school website; the policy itself only refers to tests taken at the school.
